Soldiers

Soldiers

A Poem by Katie Lynn
"

I wrote this when I was either in 7th or 8th grade, it was inspired by the soldiers fighting in Iraq and the Band of Brothers movies.

"
Broken glass,
Ash and soot,
Step by step,
On wounded foot.

Burning bodies,
Blood and shell,
Residing in,
The flames of Hell,

Gore and pain,
Found everywhere,
On the ground,
And in the air.

Crying, he walks,
And says his grace,
Praying for those,
Who left this place.

Those who've fallen,
Down that slope,
Have one thing left:
And that is hope.
