The LighthouseA Poem by Katie LynnFor the most caring and loving man this world has ever seen. My Grandfather. There is a grand old lighthouse Standing strong upon the shore And even in the darkest night, You'll see its glowing core.
Against the waves and wind and rain, For 85 years it stood Battered by nature and circumstance, For the longest that it could.
Its tender light reached so far out Into the distant sky, And touched the hearts of many people And my family and I.
Once in a lifetime you may see A loving light so pure, A light so great and wonderful, A light that still endures.
You see, the house has disappeared, Only the Light remains, But this light cannot be snuffed, It never dies or wanes.
It lives forever in all our hearts, Though we didn't see it planned, The light house rests with Jesus now... My Lighthouse shook his hand. © 2012 Katie LynnAuthor's Note
