wine

wine

A Poem by nisha

the vines tangle under the chaos
summer winter spring fall
all they know is eternal embrace
reaching closer towards the sun
haunting secrets only the wind holds
ancient answers told by the rain
royal purple wisdom crushed
transformed into liquid torture

Interesting conclusion here in the last line. Liquid torture? I really don't look my afternoon glass of cabernet that way. Of course there are those who consume seven or eight glasses and wake up the next morning with a head that feels like Hiroshima the day after. That indeed is torture.

Always remember art is subjective, and some of the greatest poems ever written are far from perfect. Write what is meaningful to you because each piece is like a child. It must go out into the world and stand on its own. If it is meaningful to one reader Always consider that a success. Even if it doesn't that never should define the work. Because you have done the bravest part already in sharing with the world. That is what writing is all about. I liked your poem just the way it is. Keep on writing and continued success in your writing journey.
