Living in wheat country rain is like a deity as it has the power to make or break a farmer. It is more sought after and considered more precious than gold. It is green when falling on seedlings and gold on mature stalks. It can drown a crop or wash away its roots or let the soil blow away in drought. Rain can be a cruel mistress but then she is the earths blood and we can't survive without her. Sorry for getting so wordy I just wanted to show you how differently I view rain but you did say soothing rain. Having rain in the weather forecast everyday makes my arthritis ache and me a grumpy old man, isn't it great when your readers get so involved they over look your words and ramble on with their words? That is a good sigh that your work is toughing them and that is the best thing a writer can hope for, good job my friend. Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!

I like this.
Rain has always been soothing for me also, maybe because I'm a water sign. I love the rain, watching it, feeling it, hearing it fall on the windows, standing outside in it.

Beautiful little poem here.

Just read Bear's review (I rarely read other people's reviews of other people's posts.. if you know what I mean..) however, his is novel size so couldn't miss i!!!

He is right, when people like you write a beautifully simple poem - a haiku.. and somehow suggest so much, it sets another person's mind or imagination (or both) going full speed. So.. many many thanks to the two or you for giving both pleasure and information.. Two for the price of one one.
