Midnight RedA Poem by Stacy PurvisA little something from the past I thought I'd share. The sun shines bright, She lowers her head. Inconsistent tales. She'll soon be dead. "Paint the town" he said. "Paint it gold and red." Dagger striking in her heart. He awaits the game to start. Behind the mask, Eyes so wide. It is day, Run and hide. Sun goes down. The moon is full. Empty town. Loneliness so cruel. And still another waits. Shadows linger on a wall. Despite his efforts, She won't fall. The suitor lurks Watching the game. Disguises himself To hide the fame. Words on paper. Make a draft. Notes like honey to ear. Nothing to fear. The puppet master lies in wait. Evil lurks and so much hate! Controls the man. Controls the ride. Deep slumber, sleepy head. Pinocchio, wood is dead. Wish upon a star. Take you away, very far. Midnight and BONG! Someone is very wrong. Princess dies. Someone cries. © 2018 Stacy PurvisFeatured Review
