You'll Never KnowA Poem by Stacy Purvis
You’ll never know how good we could be together
You’ll never know what it feels like to hold my hand Or look into my eyes and see the love Or to feel the fire emanating from my soul You’ll never know the taste of my sweet kisses On your lips and eyes in the morning Or me holding you when you’re having a bad day You’ll never get to watch me grow old with you Or play with the grandkids on a porch swing To look into their tiny faces and see us You’ll never know my love so deep for you Or get to hold me when I cry and depend on you Or caress the tear away from my cheek You’ll never know what it’s like to sleep next to me Our bodies together, spooning and what it’s like to Watch me sleep while dreaming of our future You’ll never know what it’s like to hold my hand on My death bed while saying goodbye to your oldest friend You’ll never know what it’s like to have me holding yours When you take your last breath knowing you were truly loved You’ll never know…me. © 2017 Stacy Purvis |
