The Seedy Side Of LifeA Poem by Stacy PurvisWritten for and about an old friend and her many sad escapades she calls "Life:.The strap falls off her shoulder As the lights slide across her body In the dark, damp hotel room triple x On the seedy side of town for sex
“It’s just us two” she says to him With her sinister grin, she leads him Down the path of malevolent sin. She says “now let’s begin” and…
No looking back now, he’s gonna burn.
Someone’s waiting for you She’s worried now it’s late Someone’s been up for hours Wondering if you’re okay but
You don’t care because it’s all- All about you now, isn’t it? And she knows, yea she knows Where you’ve been..dancing with sin.
The aroma of that night’s escapade Looms in the air as she runs To the door then falls to the floor It’s going to be a long night, very long night
He tries to lie as she begins to cry But she knows and it’s just too late You should’ve known your fate Once you cross that line..it’s done
And she says, “I hope you had fun…”
Someone’s waiting for you She’s worried now it’s late Someone’s been up for hours Wondering if you’re ok but
You don’t care because it’s all- All about you now, isn’t it? And she knows, yea she knows Where you’ve been..dancing with sin.
And you’ve lost her-the best thing To ever happen in your life In a long time but you’ve lost her And now she’s gone…long gone
No looking back now… And he’s gonna burn..
But you don’t care because it’s all- All about you now, isn’t it? And she knows, yea she knows Where you’ve been..dancing with sin. © 2017 Stacy Purvis |
