This Formidable HazeA Poem by Stacy Purvis
This formidable haze
Lost time and distant gaze So much time has passed Since I’ve seen you last. Regrets turn to tears All the broken years Wish you could’ve stayed Fear is the price we paid. I’m confused, torn in two One half hating One half loving you Not knowing what to do Memory- I can’t seem to leave Because I want to believe That what I felt was real Desires and passions I feel Sadness overwhelms me Grief overcomes me Looking for an answer Love becomes a cancer Days pass by, still no word Shadows darken, silence heard A poisoned flock of memories Blending visions of histories Annihilate a sacred hate Dispose of an inquisition This is how we spend our days In this formidable haze. © 2019 Stacy PurvisFeatured Review
