Betraying Tragedy

Betraying Tragedy

A Poem by Stacy Purvis

In a moment, you are there, a gentle voice to caress and care

Effervescent and free, the love you give brings new life to me.

In an ever-growing, infestation of evil on this planet,

Selfish pricks who steal what they want and take life for granted,

You, my love, restore my faith in this god-forsaken race,

My once complacent heart has a home, a brand new place.

This boundless love, my affection nurtured and glowing,

Like a tiny flower, from seed to full bloom and still growing.

Incandescent beams of light radiate as though Heaven sent

This path we’ve chosen, unifying, the forest arborescent.

With you by my side, I will not fear the dark nor light,

For each day with you is a journey, a pleasure and a right.

Forsake your fears and doubts, my Angel, my lover and my King,

Our two souls united, entwined and are One through-out Eternity.

One day, not long from now we two, will restore time and renew,

Our last act to be requited and true: eluding death-One from two.
