Amor Vincit OmniaA Poem by Stacy Purvis
Of all the things you could have said
The thoughts that were swimming inside your head It seems to me, what meant the most Was not my heart, but the fears of one troubled ghost. I don’t regret one single moment The lessons hovering like a foreshadowing omen A sunset on the Pacific Ocean Or the dreams and plans we breathed into motion. One picture of an amorous intention Brought to an end through villainous invention But through it all I still Believe That Love can survive throughout Eternity. “Love Conquers All” or so they say A new Beginning with each brand new day I step outside and take a deep breath I will never surrender, not even in Death. Tell me no secrets, I’ll tell you no lies Our promises decaying, succumbing to the flies Etched in my soul, forever a reminder Of the days I spent weaving our Infinite binder. © 2017 Stacy PurvisFeatured Review
