My Lifeless Life

My Lifeless Life

A Poem by Sasha
"

just stuck in one not good, not bad place...ever felt that?? given up on life. but not to the extent of suicide.

"
I stay awake these nights.
Unable to sleep.
Yet unable to wake up,
Just lost in an eternity of nothingness.
Unable to stay happy.
Still unable to weep.
Just lost myself in me,
Someplace down deep.

Clocks tick,
Deadlines pass,
Friends are lost,
The play loses it's cast.

Let them do what they want to me,
I don' t care.
It doesn't matter.
Anything they throw at me,
I can bear.

Author's Note

Sasha
first. the play loses its cast is a reference from,
"The World is a play, and each must play a part" - Shakespere. [appanrently. ;)]

Does the last stanza seem out of place??

The poem is very strong and sad. We can fall to the level where we feel useless and not needed. I like the feel of the internal struggle and the positive ending. Old wise football coach said. Never show defeat even when you lose. A outstanding poem.
