Churchyard

Churchyard

A Poem by sasha

Yesterday floating in eternal night
broken dreams faded laurel wreaths
of words of love and promises of happiness
blacken like Crosses on universal life churchyard
unsung songs sleeping on granite gravestones
there everything turns to dust
just his clear blue eyes still full of indifference
shining like glass through the ashes
even the death was powerless

love the imagery in this...reminds me of joan osborne's song..

"what if god was one of us"

the blue eyes, sleeping on granite gravestones...his death, not accomplishing what he hoped? or we not taking advantage of his love...the night no longer eternal, just full of broken dreams.
