A Poem by Sarra Sahara
"

self-conciousness. actually it's more about drifting away from a friend. i felt like she was ditching me in order to be with people who were higher on the high school food chain, and she seemed so different than she had after i knew her for several years

"

what is legitimate, really?
what are you supposed to be?
are you faking this reality,
or are you really just this fake?
tell me, how you became so processed,
commercialized, exploted.
i'll spare my commentary for the first time,
and hold my cheek out for
reality to crash into.
splitting, horrid, reality, i'll let it
pierce my heart and deflate my
entire perception of who you were.
because you're nothing now,
less than what i am to you,
a tiny particle barely keeping its
head above the ocean and her torrent.
and we'll finally give in and
sink into the deepest trench that
life can find,
  and gasp.
    squeak, drown.
        and then die.
nothing will change.

Wow. That was amazing! I deal with being self-conscious via my writing.
