the wheels on the truck

the wheels on the truck

A Poem by Sarra Sahara
"

cattle trucks make me sad

"

spinning, racing, gaining.
the wheels on the truck go round and round.
burgundy and unstoppable, edging along the highway.
spinning, racing, gaining.
thick smoke fogs the driver's nook.
walkie-talkie comrades alert about women worth stares.
trucker languages broadcast on a clear network.
spinning, churning, producing.
the engine's hot sticky environment reflected by the exhaust pipe.
one, two, three, four, exhale. more smoke in the cockpit.
shaking, mooing, cargo,
just along for the ride.
big tits in the white tahoe. got it chief.
static and country take turns on the radio station.
shaking, stomping, spinning.
the passengets want grass, the engine, gas.
spinning, inching, racing.
the wheels on the truck go round and round,
to where their passengers are ground.
