Sea Glass

Sea Glass

A Poem by Sara

I am born in rage, my form dashed against the rocks and shattered into dangerous slices

The tides lull me into their grasp, and I am split apart, losing myself among the waves

The current pulls me further still, laying me to rest in a bed of sand and shell and I wait

My clarity dulling as I forget days spent together, until loneliness is a comfort

My sharp edges are rubbed raw, and my fury and angst are replaced with an enveloping ease

It is only then that I am brought forth to my old world, with the assurance that I have been reborn

And I am safe and beautiful and treasured among worn brethren resting on the shore
