Somebody

A poem I wrote a little while ago that only one person should really recognize. There's been a few revisions from the original to make it more poem-like.

Somebody

 

I'll always be here.

Always beside you.

Always watching over you.

I'll be here when you cry,

To wipe away the tears

And chase the sorrow away.

I'll light your way through darkness

And guide you to my arms.

I'll always be here to protect you

When the world turns away.

I'll be here to to comfort you,

And bring a smile to your face.

To me, you are the light

That keeps me alive

When all is lost

And I forget who I am.

The only thing I need

Is to look into your eyes and see,

See that I'm not a nobody.

I do exist and to you

I'm a somebody.

Powerful words and spoken so truly. I can relate to your poem because my boyfriend makes me feel the same way your poem has stated. I love how simple this was. You didn't let fancy words get in the way of what you wanted to say so a very profound and true meaning rang true in the end due to this! Nice work!
