Reaching for peace

Reaching for peace

A Poem by Swoo
"

Gaining understanding of peace at the dentists

"
I walked into your room consumed with my misery
I announced my woes to hear your tragedy
My misery is not a patch on the travesty you have faced
I sit in that room mouth open wide, disgraced
My sadness consolable, passable, healable
Your grief palpable, dismal, unforgettable
In that moment I realised I am going to heal
You are my dentist and your pain is real
Your family has lost a child that cannot return
Mine a relationship just a lesson to learn
I’m sorry that your pain has found me peace
When your pain is one with no release
Forgive me my dentist for I was full of self
You shared your pain and became my help

This was brilliant verse that brought me down strange avenues. I forgot to read the subtitle and was taken aback by "you are my dentist". My dentist is a very sweet lady. She chats while I mumble.

Suffering is ubiquitous, but so is revelation. If you can find it at a dentist's office, you can find it anywhere.
