Who Are You?

Who Are You?

A Poem by Sarahthirk

Who Are You?

Verse:
Hanging on every word you would tell
Seemed like you would watch us if we fell
You made it look like a flawless day
Left us breathless for a while with nothing to say

Pre-Chorus:
But then the sun went down
The stars came out
The curtains closed
And now everybody knows

Chorus:
Every time your lips moved, no sound emanated was true
Baby who are you? Not the person I thought I knew
The life inside your eyes faded to black and died
All because of the pride you gained from your lies
This is what it all boils down to
Who are you?

Verse 2:
Left us all holding onto a weak thread
But not a single word was left unsaid
Your heavy blows knocked us off our feet
Let's pray to god this won't repeat

Pre-chorus:
Cuz when the sun went down
And when the stars came out
The curtain finally closed
And now everybody knows

Chorus:
Every time your lips moved, no sound emanated was true
Baby who are you? Not the person I thought I knew
The life inside your eyes faded to black and died
All because of the pride you gained from your lies
This is what it all boils down to
Who are you?

Bridge:
Why are you playing all these games?
Both the winner and the loser get pain as the prize
Nothing but confused
As we try to defuse your lies

Chorus:
Every time your lips moved, no sound emanated was true
Baby who are you? Not the person I thought I knew
The life inside your eyes faded to black and died
All because of the pride you gained from your lies
This is what it all boils down to
Who are you?
