Crack A Smile

Crack A Smile

A Poem by Sarahthirk
"

This is about some b**** who told me that just because my idol (taylor swift, don't judge) saved me from suicide, didn't mean I deserved to meet her, and that I was nothing special.

"
Crack A Smile

Verse:
Baked a hundred thousand calories with a laugh
Oh, it was a picture perfect day
Flying up to cloud nine and past
But you had 280 characters left to say

I turned my life around finally
180 is a hard number to reach
My mind had finally set me free
But you had some devilish words to preach

Pre-Chorus:
"You're nothing special" you said
And I thought, "what?"
"it's so common so it's nothing" you said
And I thought

Chorus:
Who do you think you are?
Raining on my first sunny day in months
You're a sheet that covers the stars
I was just about to crack a smile
Why do you think that you
Should push me back where I was?
Do you really want me to die?
'Cause I was just about to crack a smile

Verse:
I thought raspberries were supposed to be sweet
Lots of sweet things come to a bitter end
And you bow down to an angel's feet
Yet a devil is what's within you

Pre-Chorus:
"What's wrong with you" you said
And I thought "what?"
"Why do you deserve it" you said
And I thought

Chorus:
Who do you think you are?
Raining on my first sunny day in months
You're a sheet that covers the stars
I was just about to crack a smile
Why do you think that you
Should push me back where I was?
Do you really want me to die?
'Cause I was just about to crack a smile

Who do you think you are
Telling me I can't meet my savior?
You're the reason I needed her
I was just about to crack a smile
Why do you think that you
Know the weights I've carried?
How the hell do you sleep at night?
And I was just about to crack a smile

Bridge:
But then you cracked my smile in half
And you fell asleep in peace
And it's 3 AM and I'm writing this song
'Cause you pushed me back from my greatest leap
You cracked my smile in half
And then you go on your merry way
You don't even care that those thoughts are getting stronger
And you pushed me back from my greatest leap

Who do you think you are
Telling me I can't meet my savior?
You're the reason I needed her
I was just about to crack a smile
Why do you think that you
Know the weights I've carried?
How the hell do you sleep at night?
And I was just about to crack a smile
