Rebel

Rebel

A Poem by Sarahthirk
"

I wrote this about a friend who has a crush on a guy with a bad reputation. The picture represents someone looking deeper into something.

"
Rebel

Verse:
People take a glance at you and assume right away
You’ll never get anywhere, they’ll see you on the streets one day
It seems like no one can really understand
You can’t know someone’s life from what you see from the stands

Pre- Chorus
I coward ‘cuz I can’t just say three simple words
so I’m writing this song and I hope it works

Chorus:
I’m addicted to your laugh
and the way your blue eyes shine
Never thought I’d want someone like you
I guess I’ve learned to see through
The outer shell, the first impression
And I’ve decided it’s my mission
To not doubt, and get it out, not just huddle in the crowd
But why do I get choked up when I try to say
I’m in love with a rebel?

Verse:
Speaking my mind wouldn't do me any good here
It'd be Romeo and Juliet, a love built off of fear
Who knows, maybe this is just a phase
But right know it fills every empty and crowded space

Pre-chorus
My love is now like a shaken up soda bottle
Well, I guess I just opened the cap, and I’m going forward full throttle

Chorus:
I’m addicted to your laugh
and the way your blue eyes shine
Never thought I’d want someone like you
I guess I’ve learned to see through
The outer shell, the first impression
And I’ve decided it’s my mission
To not doubt, and get it out, not just huddle in the crowd
But why do I get choked up when I try to say
I’m in love with a rebel?

Bridge:
This is me, the others can let it be, I don’t care
You should know, my feelings rarely show, outside of paper
That’s the only way I can let you know what I can’t say, but its still there
Why cant they see desire that’s escaping the confines
Of everything they know as right

Chorus:
I’m addicted to your laugh
and the way your blue eyes shine
Never thought I’d want someone like you
I guess I’ve learned to see through
The outer shell, the first impression
And I’ve decided it’s my mission
To not doubt, and get it out, not just huddle in the crowd
But why do I get choked up when I try to say
I’m in love with a rebel?

Outro:
Oh, Oh, why can’t they dig down deep to the inside?
Oh, Oh, why can’t I say these three words
