Somewhere Between Here and There

Somewhere Between Here and There

A Poem by Sarahfenna

The last rays of an ending day,

the soft wind from a different world

honey and wild flowers travel through the air

dark, rolling grassy hills, breath

soft, rosey colors stain the sky

the warmth of the ground,

tickling my stomach.

I can see a dark, endless advance of stars

on the left.

and on my right,

the colors of a glorious sun

hale the empire, no man's land.

unclaimed, untouched, unravaged

by the greedy hand of men

sweet haven, craddle me into sleep

for not one day have i slept here

that my dreams had not been sweet
