Dragon

Dragon

A Poem by Sarah Hale
"

I had a weird dream.... possibly induced by a combination of mass amounts of sugar and my gramma's spanish rice....0o baaaad combination....

"
His gaze was fierce,
dangerous,
like a fiery dragon
Eagerly devouring my every move
I shifted,
The gaze followed,
Paralyzing me,
For a moment
It felt like predator versus prey
but I wasn't going to flee
I took a deep breath,
Straightening up with a wave
as I gave him a light smile
He stared for a moment,
scowled,
and went his way.
I followed,
like a curious kitten,
staring at his back
as we walked through darkened scenery
and suddenly,
I found myself lost.
Shadows shifted,
and darkness whispered around me
I was too afraid to move
Too afraid to breathe
"idiot"
I blinked as that frightening gaze caught mine
The shadows seemed to settle
the darkness fell silent
and then I was following him again.
