Dreaming of a feeling she'd read about that captured her soul in books
An exchange of need-you-more-than-air chemistry
A captivating top of the mountain faster than a cheetah hotter than fire love
A picture of skipping and laughing so high along a beautiful sunlit beach
followed by getting lost helplessly in eachothers eyes, tracing the end of day shadows across eachothers face
As they feel their hearts float higher and higher up in the sky until they meet the stars which hold them tight to never let back down
A feeling she'd longed for and believed her part was out there
Somewhere
It's true when they say you find your true love when you least expect it
You may not have chosen that particular timing or life circumstances to stumble upon the person that is going to flip your world around, whisking you off your feet making you lose all sense of self control
It's really an amazing, beautiful thing, to love like that.
A love that awakens you and makes you feel ALIVE
It's like walking down the same path every day for years and it is nothing more than a shortcut to get to where you're going.
Then one day you walk down that same path and you slow down, aware of everything around you. Noticing and appreciating all the pretty flowers that line it. Catching view of a bird and it's beautiful shape as it takes flight; it's chirp song filling your soul with light and happiness. You make silent wishes as you walk through a wisp of dandelion seeds. Pause to tickle a stray cat under the chin, listening to the warm sound of it's appreciating purring. Giving affection to which you once ignored.
You see the world through a much prettier set of eyes and feel loved, and have love to give. A magical gift.
I'll never forget the day that I met you, and the summer that followed. I was the luckiest, happiest girl in the whole world.
I still am.

Yeah, I agree with you Eve. I am a sucker for love. A hopeless romantic even if I never find mine. The writing does capture the spirit of love, the essence of being in love.

Really well done. I love the description and imagery that this poem portrays. It's a wonderful representation of what it means and feels like to be in love. It's as if I'm reading a fairy tale lol! I'm not one to believe in true love, but I'm glad to be reassured that there are still people out there who truly believe that they have found theirs. Congratulation. I wish you the best!
