In My Mind's Eye

In My Mind's Eye

A Poem by Sarah
"

The places your mind will take you when you let it wander...

"

In My Mind's Eye

I see

waves crashing on the shore.

I smell

sea salt in the air.

I feel

the ocean breeze on my face.

I hear

seagulls crying in the distance.

-

Such bliss,

with my hand in yours.

-

Then I open my eyes.

What a bleak desert

that I am standing in

all alone.

I love the ocean also. I do have the great lakes near. I like the places you wander toward. Allowing the reader to breath and see the sea. A very good ending to a excellent poem.

Good write, the senses are a nice touch. The ending made me longing for some more, I feel you could grow on it; or even make another poem branching off this one, perhaps? Thanks for the write, keep it up.
