The Truth Shall Set Us FreeA Poem by SarahRoseThis is a poem I wrote an the opening to the chapter of a book I am writing.THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE Bludgeoned Splattered
by the stain Only
we see the backdrop falling so gracefully Plastic
and pretentious Portraying
deception Rises
like smoke Blood
tainted by lies and compromise We
stand facing the sky Slowing
kneeling Descending Depths
fallen asunder We
all kneel there alone Yet………..together We
kneel there The
sacrificial price of sin Transgressions
stain our lives……remain The
dramatization set before us We
are there……………yet nowhere Lost
in the infusion Lost A
camera could not capture the deception or illusion Lost We
fade into the distant horizon Lost
like an illusion Our
grasp fades No
time for compulsion Our
illusion ………..our souls can only measure the confusion Not
time nor weight nor motion could stop the potential perpetual descending Loss
has no justice The
weights of justice are no longer in balance We
turn and look back Looking
Back It’s
a fact Lights
are black Shed
some light Even………………..in
the night Shackled we may be If
only we could see what is true We would believe Let
the truth set us free. Written
