Within The Hour GlassA Poem by SarahRoseI was there when the words came. A time in life when the words were written as I was a soul examining life in a new light.WITHIN THE HOURGLASS Sometimes in life we walk away from love It works that way Hurts, lies, and compromise…taint our vision of love When it does, the pain runs as deep as the soul Causing us to examine where we stand in the light of love Rays burning bright Looking around, we follow the light Leaving behind the darkness of pain Tainted emotions of what we believe existed With eyes fixed on a path leading to a destination unknown Grasping hope with trembling hands Glaring through…..tear filled eyes Relying on inner strength and intuitions of what could be out there Beyond the shore of destruction Lies the stillness of the ocean The ocean of loves unknown boundaries, currents, and depths Seeing the horizon beyond its etched openness Accompanied by questions unanswered, doubts, fears, hopes, and tears Not able to understand…We grasp, hope, and yearn for what’s out there In the daring openness, limitless horizon Like the sands….uncounted Sometimes we want knowledge of the sands of time Past, present, and future Our soul see yet not knowing something’s…some secrets There Answers locked asunder in the hope chest of life Like a treasure buried deep under the ocean’s currents The waves…………. the blue At last…in time…sands falling through the hour glass We can’t control its sifting……falling It’s time is held by the hands of life Minutes passing…..we can only wait Living each moment like a treasured and unexpected gift Unwrapping it with trembling hands and hearts Accepting what is given to us Seeing what really lies with the hour glass Wisdom, trials, tests, love, patience, chances, gifts, pain, sorrow Last, our hopes for a brighter tomorrow Within the hour glass By: Sarah Rose © 2011 SarahRose |
