Again, last night.

Again, last night.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Break my heart and hope to cry

I died for love again last night.

I covered my face with the hands of the divine

and took the sin in stride

Fairy tales and shots of whiskey

mixed up the signals I should have been hearing

I held my blind heart to the sky

and let you destroy my sleep.

If I should die before I wake

I would make you take it all back

Free from the clutches of my self

and give me back my pride.

Fluttering eyes keep me safe

forcing the wrong out the door.

Be calm, this night, my spellbound heart

tomorrow you will beat once more.

Nicely penned! Great sentiments that many including myself can really relate to! Well spun!
