Clouds of harsh words.

Clouds of harsh words.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

The sky has gone grey

and the air is getting colder.

I never was one to use the obvious as inspiration

but the weather is the reason for my harshness

and the catalyst for my finally saying what should have always been said.

How dare you put me in this vice again

and how dare God let me choose to accept my place?

I know that all of the blame should be mine to take on

but I find it  hard to believe that you can get off scott free.

Your words haven't changed and netiher has your intent

and what kind of man can sit back and be ok with that?

Your ignorance is futile and my resistance is minute

some of the damage should be on you as well,

yet it all falls onto me.

And I don't find that fair

or acceptable.

On this grey cloud covered Thursday

I raise my normally peacefilled heart in hate

I will not be your lady in waiting any longer

And my resolve won't have to wait until the sun shines again.
