Brilliant my love.

Brilliant my love.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Brilliant, my love

you shone brilliantly.

Black night as your backdrop

You contrast my wish to hold you tonight.

You are a fantasy of my far off self

held in front of me, egging me on.

Acting as if Christ is my temptation

delivering me from all that is evil.

Time led me away from God

but brought me straight to you.

I found humor in that tragedy,

mixed it with my distrust of your intent

and found myself here today,

Wishing I could keep my burning eyes off you.
