Delerium

Delerium

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

The moment began with a feeling

grew into a breath

faded with the blink of my eye

then floated away like a dream.

The sky was violet

dusted with delerium

trading my dreams for reality

I watched you walk away.

The moonlight broke my fall

sturdying my stance

pushing me onward through the future

as I slowly let you go.
