Seventh Period

Seventh Period

A Story by Sarah to Peices
"

A look from across the room and a wide smile trigger a series of events that almost drove me insane with happiness.

"

I sat in my chair talking to the boy behind me.

"Golfing isn't a sport dan.  It's swinging a stupid little club at a weird little ball." I laughed throwing my head back and grinning out the glass ceiling at the bright autumn trees.  He frowned at me but there was light in his eyes.

"Well it takes a lot of skill to hit that tiny little ball with that tiny little club.  So much skill that very few people can do it.  Let alone brunettes with ADHD." He chuckled shaking his blond wavy hair down over  his electric blue eyes giving me a smile that, like many other times, almost stopped my heart.  I grinned at him showing my rows of white teeth.  I pushed my hair back out of my face and fixed my bangs so that i earned a lengthy look from dan.  I grinned at him and looked around for the teacher.

"Where is Miss. Karting?" I said.  the bell had just rang and she was never late.

"Eh, we have an hour and a half to wait for her.  I for one don't want to do anymore packets." He made his eyes grow wide and forced a shudder for dramatic effect.  "They scare me."  I stood up and walked over to the door to see where she was when the intercom beeped and the secretary in the office came on.

"uhm, period seven?" asked the womens voice.

"Yes?" We all answered.

"Miss. Karting won't be in class this period."

"cool." We answered

"Now period seven can I trust you to behave without a teacher?" She asked skeptical.

"They aren't alone Mrs. Hoyyer." Said heralds aid.  Herald grinned at her from his wheel chair.

"Very good then." Said Mrs. Hoyyer happily.  "Have fun." And then the intercom beeped off.  I looked and grinned at Dan.  Dan picked up a peice of paper and drew a hang man post and motioned me to come sit down.  I grimaced.  Dan was really good at hang man and he didn't go into great detail on the man so i usually hung very early in the game.  I was walking back to my seat when the door opened and Jake Churchill walked in the room.

"Home girl!" He yelled happily at me.  My eyes lit up with excitment at the site of him and he grinned.  He was about four inches taller then me with pale, clear skin and a golden head of hair.  His eyes were greenish-hazel underneath his golden hair.

"Home boy!" I sang and he grinned at me.  He set his books down and came over to me and gave me a high five and we bumped knuckles.  I wish he would have greeted me with a hug, but he had just gotten over a horrible girl friend and was afraid of letting a girl near his heart.

"Where's Miss. Karting?" he asked.

"Not here." Said Dan joining us. "Not gonna be here." he added

we spent the next thirty minutes talking: about scary movies, funny movies, the foot ball team, the teachers, the tests, the disgusting lunch and the senior fight that was supposed to happen after school today.  Then Dan got a text and his eyes lit up and he grinned.  Hey my girlfriend is texting me.  They don't have a teacher either.  I'm gonna go call her." He said moving to a corner of the room to have privacy.  We didn't need to worry about Heralds aid.  She would let us go through the teachers desk if we wanted to.  That left me and Jake.  He looked out the window and I could see sadness in his eyes.

"She shouldn't keep you from your happiness.  If she loved you like you loved her, she wouldn't have hurt you so bad." I said softly not looking at him.  He turned his gaze to me and nodded slowly.

"One might think I would know that by know." He said.  I looked at him and smiled sweetly in a sarcastic kind of way and held my arms out.

"Churchy want a hug?" He laughed and stood walking over to me and wrapping his arms around my back and hugging me.  He rested his head on mine and sighed.

"I feel much much better.  Yes thank you." He laughed at me.  My phone vibrated and I took it out and looked at it.  Angry for the interuption

I shut my phne and looked up to see jake and Dan at their desks talking.  Before I could silence myself an involuntary sob broke my lips and I began to notice the tears streaming down my cheeks for the loss of my life long friend.  Dan and jake looked at me dumb founded and i realized that I must look a wreck.  I wiped my eyes and calmed myself down and sat by them.  They were hesitant to ask.

"What..."

"Haddie is moving." I said despondently.  They shared my misery to help me bare the burden.  Jake and Dan shared a look and Dan abruptly stood, and walked over to the computer to 'check his grades.'

"Do you need a hug?" asked Jake.  I looked up at him and smiled.  I nodded my head shyly and stood to give him a hug.  He met me half way and wrapped his arms around me and tightened them gently around the small of my back.  I hugged back and feeling awkward I stepped back to pull away But he kept his arms firmly around me.  He laughed and touched my cheek to his.

"Not done yet." We stood in a hug that made me almost dizzy with joy.

"see!!!???  THIS IS WHY PEOPLE THINK YOU TWO ARE A CUTE COUPLE!!!!" screamed Ben Harlone.  He lessened his grip and I pulled away blushing.  He grinned at Ben and put his arm around me smiling wildly.

"How do you know we aren't going out now???" He challenged.  Ben seemed baffled but then laughed.

"Because she is as red as one of the trees!" He laughed.  Dan was now back in the circle and began to laugh at me too.  I shrunk away back into Jakes shoulder and both Ben and Dan seemed to raise an eye brow at me questioningly.  But I realized the questioning stare was for jake and I looked up at him to see that he was smiling down at me.  He caught my gaze and and held it.  Before looking up at an awe struck Dan and Ben.

"Okay even though i'm a guy, that was hot." Said Dan laughing.  I giggled and jake let me sit down on my desk and cast dan and ben a warning look.  They grinned and turned away.  Jake leaned in on me and put his hands around my waist and hugged.  He put his lips by my ear and whispered

"What do I do once I find the girl I do want?  That I am certain would never hurt me?" He asked.  I wrapped my arms around his neck and brought my lips to his ear.

"Don't let her go."

I really hope you like it. I was inspired today by a hug from a boy ( I think I love him <3) and thought that love begins as innocent so there should be an innocent story. :)
