The Horizon Lines

The Horizon Lines

A Poem by Sarah Lynn

I've got sunshine in my blood
Cotton ball clouds in my mind
Coasting along the fifth dimension
I swear to you I'm fine, I'm fine
Because now that I know
You were never really mine

It's the pebbles in the puddles
It's the crease in his eyes
It's the angels that dance
Along the horizon lines
It's the breath in the heart
Of the one that was never really mine

Wheels spin along pavement
Speeding through the stop signs
Dancing to the beat of the drums
In the pulse of fire flies
And you know, really it's quite alright
That you were never really mine

Because, honestly,
How does one own the sky?

I've missed reading you and always am shocked and awed by your work.. I love the beginning of the first stanza, "I've got sunshine in my blood
Cotton ball clouds in my mind
Coasting along the fifth dimension
I swear to you I'm fine, I'm fine
Because now that I know
You were never really mine" Love it..
