Ask and You Shall KnowA Poem by Sarah Kaitlyn InskoAsk and You Shall Know If I asked him what he thought of me, he might say beauty. My poise and grace, The melody of my voice and the rhythm of my speech. My smile and my eyes, The way I looked at him with love
If I asked her what she thought of me, she might say friend. Someone who cares, laughs, loves. One who stands up and protects, A radiant joy.
If I asked them what they thought of me, they might say leader. A bright future, a role-model. A person with potential and class. ~ If I asked him what he knew about me, he would say regret. Promises unfulfilled and temptations yielded to. He would say broken and scarred.
If I asked her what she knew about me, she would say guilt. Sadness, blame, burden. Unforgiving thoughts that never left my head.
If I asked them what they knew about me, they would say hurt. Someone with a good act and a fake smile, A hollowed spirit and empty heart. © 2013 Sarah Kaitlyn Insko |
