Emanuel

Emanuel

A Poem by Sarah Rae

Truly the King of the world has no interest in getting messy.

He doesn't want to get His hands dirty in your self-created brokenness.

He doesn't want to be mixed in with your pain or your suffering.

You caused this yourself.

You're saved & you're still struggling with your same old addictions?

You really must keep up.

You've been set free and I should not have to help you out of that.

I will not search for you in the wilderness, for you who has already been found.

This is a God I often serve, a God of my own creating.

The God of the Bible runs after his prodigal son. Runs after those who have fled.

The God of the Bible is willing to come to earth as a baby.

The God of the Bible is willing to die in the most painful and humiliating way.

For His glory and for His people.

He suffers with.

Emanuel.

God with us.
