Forgotten

Forgotten

A Poem by saarah_jaane

Forgotten

There’s a soft scent sitting on my pillow

and your clothes are lying in the corner.

There’s a shattered glass,

and the emptiness you leave behind.

There’s a crumpled bed,
and the reminder of the passion.

There’s a bruised left eye,
and the anger you left hanging in the air.

There’s a guilty woman crouched in a ball,
and the truths you lashed out.
There’s a love like fire,
and it burns our souls.

I enjoyed reading this. Made me think of a relationship in which the two were once so connected, but that has been the reason for their separation. I see it as two people who were once connected in mind, body, and soul, but are now nothing more than an everlasting memory which fades into the darkness. Great poem.
