As Dust DancesA Poem by Sarah ConderYour
slumbering form lies peacefully, Cradled in
the stupor of your own dream world Which the
gentle fluttering of your eyelids Hasten
to reveal. I
observe the steady rise and fall of your chest; Your featherlike
breathing as soft as the down Upon which
you rest your head. A pale glimmering
of the Early Morning’s Incandescence
filters through the narrow Opening between
the curtains. She illumines
your soft, opalescent skin and Ignites
the floating specks of dust that dance and sway In noiseless
reverie. They sparkle like a Thousand
infinitesimal suns, rising towards the heavens, Silent
and Trance-like. Whilst you,
my dear, sleep on through the earth’s music, Quite undisturbed. © 2013 Sarah ConderFeatured Review
