This
morning, pleasures danced around my mind
In a motion that was slow
Yet still, all too sudden.
A comfort came to me from the days of past
To whisper in my ear
That your touch was one which
Is not worth being missed.
This
afternoon, I passed on from dwelling
On cold nights spent
Lost under sheets
Which drowned us,
Until a dark surface beckoned us back
Where we gasped and begged for air.
The ship had sunk before its horizon.
Tonight, I
lay still and sore
Working days taking their toll
On a body which is too young
To be matched with a mind this old.
I craved the feeling
Of warm sunlight tingling on chilled skin.
Today, It rained.
The drops beat down on the warm pavement
And splashed on my shoe
Which brought an unwelcome damp
I couldn't shake, In a place which
Had grown so unfamiliar
And every movement,
Every moment,
Was an echo of me and you.
