A Dying Poet's SacrificeA Poem by LazerRaysA slam poem
So you say there’s something wrong with me
From the lyrics of the song I sing To the mirrors we anoint as kings Choke on words- but you’re still breathing Retreating-
Into the shadows we’re made of Worship obsession and call it love How can you say you’ve had enough? When your whole life you’ve lived on luck?
I choke on words and suffocate Dreaming of worlds we could create I tried to fit in and ended up deformed Whipped like an animal and forced to perform They hailed me as a royal with the crown of thorns A slave to the system since the day I was born
So scream in my face for the lyrics I sing! I bleed the words God gave me Tear myself apart for entertainment And you labeled me insanity You don’t know what it means to breathe! To let the emotions cut in deep -Let them pierce your skin till you start to bleed And rip your heart out for the world to see
As Edgar said, we’ve loved alone I keep telling you, this isn’t my home Somewhere out there I’ll find myself Maybe before I kill myself Maybe then I’ll find my peace And the pain inside will start to ease
There’s only so much blood one can bleed My writings a threat, but only to me
