I don't know dear Saree. Every life had value. Years ago, I try to drink myself to death. I didn't. Now I have purpose and reason to be alive. Maybe if we save ourselves, we can learn peace? Maybe if we save many. We can learn life is okay. Thank you for sharing your powerful and worthwhile poetry.

The universe would mourn you.
You are unique....beautiful...a genius.... and a child of God.
It makes me sad that you don't see any of that. You are so wrong.......
Every star has a reason to shine. The universe needs every single one of it's stars..or else they will all start to go out one by one. What a great tragedy that would be for the world.

this is so sad when it could so easily not be .... such a deep pain to believe such a thing as worthlessness ... i am grateful you are putting it out so to speak ... ;) i have never considered a "fading star" ... such a unique perspective ... i suppose only astronomers would note such a thing ... in answer to you Author's Note .. i must ask you ..... since you say stars have a reason to shine ... what is it then? ;)))))))))))))))))) love on ya girl!

And it got me thinking. Sometimes it feels like I’ve got no reason to shine; but the stars, they shine for others. They give people hope and I don’t do that for my friends or anything. Thank you for the review and for stopping by. And thanks for the love ahaha, stay safe! And take care!

Your authors note seems to convey a depth of desperation . . . if that's how you really feel, here's wishing you hope (((HUGS))) Your poem reminds me of how people on Facebook are fomenting about all the inconveniences (lack of TP, no Easter get-togethers, who the hell hasn't been wearing a face mask, on & on & on) but hardly anyone mentions the death toll of this virus. Your poem makes me think about how it's only important to connect with one star . . . or maybe a few . . . but I don't want to be remembered by the masses, so let all those stars shine without me! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I always feel together the human race can be beautiful at night, but during the day in the heat and fighting of battle sweats- you can’t see that beauty. I always felt that if one star were to go out in the fight, when everyone else was beautiful again; no one would notice that star had died. It was too weak, it had gave up. This is actually another one of my suicide poems, (apparently I pop these out too much, they say) thank you for the comment and review and your thoughts are always appreciated here. Hugs back,
