Messages Through the Moon

You were with the setting sun, 

Far from the stars I view, 

When you dream- I lay awake, 

Sending you messages through the moon, 

While the night kisses your eyelids, 

I'll wish to be there too, 

But it seems the closest we'll ever get, 

Is us both viewing the sky's moon, 

It's so unfair to be this way, 

and I know my thoughts are due, 

But lying in this darkness abyss, 

I'll send you messages through the moon

Wonderful opening lines...and a poet without goo is just not paying attention so be gooey and astound away cause this is a remarkable hand reaching up and out from the heart. I always rate poetry as Dickinson did, if my head doesn't blow completely off ..how do I know it is poetry? This one lifts off the page and heads for the moon..pretty good...pretty neat! Thanks!!

I wouldn't really call it that, it's sweetly romantic with a touch of wistfulness that really gets to this reader...
As long as your messages are received the right way, it's alright I guess ;) but I think it's a lovely feeling still to look at the moon and realize someone somewhere is looking at it too and thinking about you. Well ah, I love all moon writes so I could go on and on about it ;P
