The Thing I Can't Have

The one thing I cannot have,

is have fate to favor me,

In all of my ways and all of my paths,

Karma always seems to betray me,

What hurts the most, 

is this hole in my heart,

bleeding a trail away from where I want to go,

Painting the torture map of my soul,

The one thing I cannot have,

is my happiness

What makes me happy the most,
is the love in my heart,
Whether it reaches it's destination or not

I wonder: does karma own us or other way around? Do we create it, does it fixate/guess how it should occur? Is it real, self.made or..? So many questions and wonderings here. Perhaps, maybe, mayhaps we as Selves should work at creating what/who we are so karma becomes an ingredient. Surely the reverse would make a messy old cake, don't you think! Your words, often specifically laid: ' The one thing I cannot have, is my happiness' - might be helped by Self looking for even minute positives. If we wait for a bus for an hour then fail to jump on it.. what then?! Your poem IS sad but makes one think, perhaps help mind/heart feel more than is.. What is pre.destiny, karma.. ?

how things in life do elude us eh!? V1 L4 is rather telling says I! ;) now dahlink! how can Karma betray???? and I think on that, human dissatisfaction proliferates ... its in accepting one's Karma ... when we find true peace and direction ;)
your poem bleeds and seems close to your voice Sarah .... we do survive ... we grow ... and can find contentment ... very relatable poem .. universal and can be applied to many different situations ..

is my happiness" this line touched my heart.
Whenever I feel low I just speak these lines loudly and I feel more calm.
"When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us."
We can't live happy 24*7. This is life and one has to struggle throughout the life, just like me I am struggling to impress my girl.
