Cemetery

Cemetery

A Poem by LazerRays

I lay here in the Cemetery
With the stars above the night
The stones on every side of me
Casting shadows from the light

Surrounded by a Gothic fence
Of black iron towering so
Keeping the dead inside
-And keeping me all alone

My hand clutching my stomach
Of a bloody bullet wound
Or so my crazy mind would picture
In a state of vulnerable hues

Lying in this same spot now
Pondering the universe in my head
And thinking psychotically
About me hanging with the dead

For soon I'll be absorbed
Into the ground like the rest
With an epitaph so bitter-sweet
And state of mind so blessed

I actually just read this poem because it was at the top of your list of many amazing poems. This poem really describes you. How does being in the cemetery so much feel, Grave Girl? Anyways, great poem. One-hundred out of one-hundred rating. (100/100):D

Wow. This is different perspective and sort of makes the cemetery not so quiet, but soft whispers of the afterlife. Thank you. Well penned.

Poe is amazing, I still read his stuff. My backyard has a cemetary backed up to it. Well there's a fence around it. May sound goofy but I think there's a ghost that walks around it around midnight every night.

my pleasure miss poe
this poem is so good, it gives me the feeling of actually being in the cemetery, like I am also a grave girl, it had such emotion and truth, it's like showing people the dark side of how they act so they might try harder.
I quote that like of Poe all the time, no one ever knows what I'm on about. this poem was beautiful, though I wasn't exactly like that I can relate, I didn't make friends with the dead though most who know me agree that does sound like me, but when I was a kill I had imaginary enemies instead of imaginary friends.
great job Sarah!

Oh Sarah, you can learn a lot from the dead they whisper of life, they tell us of the folly, remind us what is important and channel our writings to flow! I too love Poe and you channel him very nicely please don't stop. that was so pretty (and somber) but to my ears just pretty

So many people claim to understand perfectly what goes through the mind of someone suicidal. I contend that they do not - until they are at the brink of the pit themselves, with nowhere else to turn.

Suicide, real suicide, is not meant to harm other people. It is our way out of a terribly desperate situation. I think people forget that stress can build in someone to the point - they just can't take it anymore.

I'm better now, thanks to anti-psychotic medications. And recommend for anyone that is indeed feeling the press, the pit of helplessness, and the mania of delusion, consider seeing a psychiatrist to get your life back on track. I did, it works. It works with me.

Thanks for sharing your poem, Sarah, and wish you happier times ahead !
