Put that bottle down

Put that bottle down

A Poem by Sarah
"

A new fathers battle with alcohol abuse

"
I know the struggle is hard.
I know you want to be perfect,
But put that bottle down.

That bottle wont solve anything.
That bottle wont make things easier.
It will only make things harder.
This big change in your life,
It is well worth it.
Put that bottle down.

The moment you see his face,
You'll know what true love is.
Your life is changing,
But its changing for the better.
He is your whole world now.
He needs you in his life.
Put that bottle down.

Think of the bigger picture,
While you hold that bottle.
Do you want him to grow up,
Without a father?
Do you want him to think,
That this is all his fault?
Put that bottle down.

That bottle could destroy
Something so beautiful.
That bottle is the devil.
That bottle will only cause harm.
That bottle wont do any good.
Put that bottle down.

Dont put that bottle to your lips.
Stop.
You are loved.
You are wanted.
You are needed.
You mean so much more to others,
Than you realize.
Put that bottle down.

I love you.
Your son loves you.
Your parents love you.
Your brothers love you.
Your whole family loves you.
Your friends love you.
You are so loved,
You dont even realize how much.
Put that bottle down.
