A Dream Journey (poem)A Poem by Sarah StephenBased on a story I wrote.
Blue and green and purple coloured the falling sun,
A vast amount of gravel stretched before her, The Path! The Path! The Path stretched out before her. A Breeze, horrible and cold, left her shivering, Ribbon of purple violently dancing, The Key! The Key! The Key violently dancing. Beautiful bridge, golden rails, awful, The sky staring down on her, The Water! The Water! The water staring back at her. Convoluted trunks, roots and all, A big white owl frightened her, The Tree! The Tree! The Tree frightened her. Twists and turns, a sharp bend in the road, Unaware of the surrounding beyond, The Corner! The Corner! The Corner and beyond. Voice, husky, rough, male, A large hand grabbed her, The Stranger! The Stranger! The Stranger grabbed her. Tiger striped light, zebra road, A Dragon awaited them, The Obstacle! The Obstacle! The Obstacle awaited them. Forever in darkness, walking, Side by side they emerged from the trees, The Garden! The Garden! The Garden emerged from the trees. Blue and green and purple coloured the rising sun, Huge stones stretched out before her, The Wall! The Wall! The Wall stretched out before her.
