The Butterfly

The Butterfly

A Poem by Sarah Stephen
"

A four stanza poem describing the beauties and harsh truths of this amazing creature.

"
A floating heartbeat
Two faced, constantly flickering in light
Never close. Untouchable

Delicate silk, oh so delicate
One touch to shatter rainbows
Delicate rainbows. Untouchable

A curled tongue, no need for lips
For lips are a gentle kiss
Dare not caress. Untouchable

Nature shreds your wings, unusable
A leaf saves you, a marooned island
Where you are, untouchable.

unique perspective! The choice of words is remarkable. You held out your thoughts of a beautiful creature just as those two iridescent wings!

Good job!
