No, this is not my original work, just thought I'd get some practice in screenwriting. I realize it's not properly formatted either, so leave me alone.

INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY

JULIAN is on the couch, watching a movie with a giant bowl of cereal. JOSH walks up.

JOSH:

Hey man.

JULIAN:

Hey.

JOSH:

What happened to Chris?

They both glance over at CHRIS, who is motionless with eyes open on the nearby chair.

JULIAN:

You want the long version? Or the short version?

JOSH:

I want you to tell me what happened to Chris.

JULIAN:

Okay. Chris is dead now.

JOSH:

What?

JULIAN:

He died like, an hour ago.

JOSH:

Why are you watching a movie?!

JULIAN:

Oh c'mon Josh, I put the movie on before he died.

JOSH:

There's a dead guy on your couch Julian!

JULIAN:

I think Chris would have wanted me to finish

this movie before disposing of his corpse.

JOSH:

That corpse has been your best friend since kindergarden.

JULIAN:

You know what? That corpse flaked out on movie time, man.

And if I'm not mistaken, he still owes you $20.

JOSH:

This is--I--I've got to call the police.

JULIAN:

Don't you understand, Josh? We can't tell anyone about this.

JOSH:

Well then, what do you suggest we do?

EXT. LAKE SHORE - EVENING

The two men put down CHRIS's body on the shore.

JOSH:

Alright Chris, I'm not good at eulogies(spelling?),

and there's not anybody here to impress so

I don't really feel that obligated to say anything at all actually so..

JULIAN:

I just tied the anchor to his feet.

JOSH:

Did you check his wallet?

JULIAN:

Yeah, he had like $40. So, we'll split it.

JULIAN gives the $20 to JOSH, and keeps $20.

JOSH:

Was it really that hard, Chris?

JULIAN:

Alright, let's get this over with. Movie's still paused.

They work as a team to use their feet to push CHRIS into the water. JOSH sighs.

JOSH:

How did you know that he was dead?

JULIAN:

(thinks and hesitates before responding)

..Well..I mean..it wasn't...

JOSH shrugs it off and they both leave.
