Perspective of Dr. Berkingsten (2nd)

A Chapter by sarahjayne

All while speaking in a whisper, Allyson was spinning her wedding ring on her finger.

She looked up at me, her face streaked with glistening trails of tears. She wiped at her nose, and cracked a sad smile.

"That was the best day..." She whispered.

"Were you ready for marriage at such a young age?"

She shook her head, "to think age has anything to do with marriage is absurd. When you're ready with the right person and you're comfortable in the commitment, then you're ready, aren't you?"

"You're a smart girl, aren't you?"

"Sensible? Maybe. Smart? Not a chance."

I rubbed my hands together, "so we've spoken of the good times... What about the bad? What were those like with Aaron?"

She pushed her hair off of her face and exhaled in a rush, "now thinking back, I even crave those bad times. I miss it all, even the fighting.""

"Tell me about some of them, then."

She breathed deeply and shifted, "alright."
