Sarah...Who?

Sarah...Who?

A Poem by Sarah W. French

You taught me how to write
To let the feelings go
Said you'd be there for me
But now I'm gone we haven't said a word
Could be cutting, crying, dying
Not your problem right?
I'm just another kid
Do you remember the first day of class
the lessons
the projects
the poems I wrote but could never say
You got me to say the words
Made me feel like I mattered
Like my words meant something
Guess it was an act
You make me hope again
Gave me strength to help the weak again
And now i'm gone and you don't check the words I write
or if you do you never let me know
Was I just a student to you
A person replacing another
Have you replaced me?
I gave you my darkest thoughts
deepest fears
and constant worries
And you forgot them all
I thought they were more the just words on a page
But that is all they are and all they ever will be
Good bye Dear teacher
For you have taught me well enough to know
I lost your thoughts when I moved out
To High School
