Throw in my Face

Throw in my Face

A Poem by Sarah W. French

You tell me not to yell
But shout it in my face
You tell me death is not the answer
But plead to give you the knife
Oh what a hypocrite you are
When everything you tell your daughter is a lie
You tell me not to let the work take hold of me
And then you yell about everything you have to do
At least you don't get a grade on what you do
You said you live for me
But you make life a living hell
I'm sick of this
Being pushed to my best
And you don't even seem to see
Why is everything you tell me a lie
I'm your one and only daughter
Stop taking about all the wrong of my father
Stop telling me not to worry about grades
Stop yelling, begging for death to open its doors
Mother, Mother....Mother
don't throw life in my face
Just let me be me
And stop making your daughter's life
A living hell
