Not One Dreamer But TwoA Poem by Sarah W. French...
Once I remembered your face
now I can't even remember your name. I shut my eyes to forget but your brown curls are still there. In drunken madness i broke your every possession. I can't hear your voice but remember the words. My memory won't let me keep you but it won't let me get rid of you. My darling...could I have made you up inside my mind? If I try hard enough I can smell the rose I gave you. If I try I can picture your blue dress against pale skin. My dearest...all I have left is the chipped cup and a few cracked memories. I'll never deserve you so perhaps you were never real. Perhaps I made you up inside my head as a reminder. A reminder of what can never be true for a beast like me. © 2012 Sarah W. FrenchAuthor's Note
